AI summary

This proposal seeks to extend an existing agreement, TIP-045, for an additional six months. This agreement compensates three professional node operators (Boar, P2P, and Staked) for running 'bootstrap nodes' which are crucial for the tBTC network. The extension is needed to maintain network stability while development teams work on significant upgrades to the tBTC client software, which are expected to take 6 to 9 months to complete. Each of the three providers will continue to receive $10,000 per month in T tokens.

Impact

If passed, the Threshold Network will continue to pay $30,000 per month ($10,000 to each of the three providers) for six months, totaling $180,000 in T tokens, to ensure the stability and operation of the tBTC network. This benefits the tBTC network by maintaining critical infrastructure, and the three professional operators by continuing their compensation. There are no direct negative impacts, but the treasury will incur this cost.
